My journey in makeup artistry began over 20 years ago.  It started off with lovely compliments about my makeup and people often asking me for help with theirs.  I frequently helped friends get ready for events by doing their hair and makeup, but I never thought of it as a career path, I was just doing it for fun!  Then one day a friend asked me to do makeup for her and her bridal party on her wedding day and I didn’t even think it was a big deal at the time although now I think I should’ve been more nervous!

After moving from California to Maryland I started working in an office and it didn’t even occur to me to try working in makeup again because I was new to the area and didn’t know anyone.  I didn’t have any connections or references to build a new clientele.  But day after day I had several co-workers complimenting me on my makeup and again asking for tips and help with their own makeup.  One day a co-worker asked if I’d do her sister-in-law’s wedding and that was the next step to this journey which led me where I am today.

I’ve had the pleasure of working in a diverse range of makeup styles including Beauty where I performed basic makeup applications for a major cosmetic brand, Fashion where I was a makeup artist for the Baltimore Fashion Show (2014) as well as Baltimore’s FASHIONEASTA: The Fashion Show at Harbor East (2015), Special Occasion makeup such as proms, weddings, engagement photo shoots, and the occasional Marine Corps Ball, face painting or Halloween application.

I was self-taught for most of my career, however I believe in continuing education.  I studied makeup artistry at Von Lee International School of Aesthetics in MD (2014), Airbrush makeup artistry at Graham Webb International Academy in DC (2015) and earned certifications from both schools to improve my skills and talents.  I pride myself on being up to date with the current trends and looks and often attend classes and events to further develop of my craft.

I’m amazed that I get to do this as a job and feel so blessed by it.  Being a makeup artist isn’t just a job for me, it has always come natural to me but my love for the art drives me, challenges me, inspires me, and constantly makes me push myself to new levels of creativity.  It is truly my passion!  I love what I do, and I love the way makeup enhances and transforms because I can see how it produces a sense of empowerment and confidence in my clients.  The reaction they have after looking in the mirror is always priceless, and it brings me so much joy to be a part of that process.

My mission is to enhance their natural beauty while maintaining their personal style and executing their vision of a perfect and timeless look.   I want to ensure the time spent in my chair is memorable and that I’ve created an awesome experience for my clients.
